Souring Control program
BiSN Asset Enhancement program offers independent advice for operators for the selection and implementation of chemical treatments. As part of the Asset Enhancement program we offer a complete service for the assessment and analysis of biocide use for the control and elimination of biological souring.

Biocides are used to control microbially induced corrosion in particular the corrosive affects of biologically produced hydrogen
sulphide (H₂s) or “Souring”.

BiSN can offer assistance and consultancy in both the planning stage of a waterflood project as well as recommendations for the remediation and elimination of biological souring.

BiSN takes a multistage approach to addressing oilfield souring, investigating all aspects from the source of hydrogen sulphide to the presence of bacterial nutrients and formation history in order to prevent and remediate oilfield souring.
